DRAMA BOOK CLUB
WITH THE BARNSTORMERS
Whether you’re a drama buff or have never set foot in a theater, the Drama Book Club is a whole new way to experience a play with members of The Barnstormers Theatre! Join long time Barnstormer actor, Doug Shapiro, as he leads you and members of the community, plus other surprise guests, in reading a play aloud together. Scripts will be provided in advance for those who might like to take a look prior to the club meeting, but preparation is not necessary! Each meeting will feature a different play, so there is sure to be something for everyone. No acting or theater experience required—we're just here to have a good time!
When: June 30, August 11 & 25 from 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Where: The Cook Memorial Library

Write the Story Only You Can Tell: Playwriting Workshop
Playwriting for Everyone is a hands-on, community-centered workshop designed for all experience levels. Led by a professional playwright and director Dori A. Robinson, this class will guide participants through the basics of writing for the stage—with plenty of encouragement and creativity along the way.
Sessions Include:
Analyzing scenes from past Barnstormers productions (comedies, dramas, mysteries, and more)
Generative writing prompts to help you explore various styles and genres
Supportive, writer-focused feedback from peers
Time to develop short scenes, monologues, and character-driven dialogue
Our time together will culminate in a shared, celebratory staged reading on the Barnstormers stage on July 27. Invite your friends and family to hear your works performed aloud on stage!
