Matthew Balkum
Matty is delighted to be returning to The Barnstormers—this time virtually! A recent graduate of Boston Conservatory, previously seen on The Barnstormers stage in The Producers, Damn Yankees, and The Man Who Came to Dinner. Endless gratitude to their family (given and chosen), The Barnstormers community, and everyone wearing a mask.
Sara Coombs (co-director)
Sara is overjoyed to be a part of this online revue! This summer marks her 9th season (and 1st virtual season) with The Barnstormers. Sara has been seen onstage, as well as the choreographer/co-director of numerous musicals. Many thanks to the cast for your hard work and hours of acting to a computer camera, to Pim and Bret for being the best collaborators, to Bob and The Barnstormers staff for making this revue possible, and to our beloved Barnstormers community for watching!
Craig Franke
Craig is happy to be back with The Barnstormers, if only virtually. He has appeared in The Producers and Damn Yankees in Tamworth. He is an avid fan of bad sports teams who constantly let him down. Like his past credits suggest, he does not like the Yankees.
Kris Ivy Haynes
Kris is an actor, singer, dancer, and musician from Brooklyn, NY. Her favorite credits include: Crissy in Hair (New Repertory Theatre), Columbia in the Rocky Horror Show, Ulla in The Producers, Anita in West Side Story, Myrrha in Metamorphoses, and Steele in Piece of my Heart. She has her BFA in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Najah Hetsberger
Najah is an upcoming senior at Montclair State University studying musical theater. This is her first time performing for The Barnstormers and she is thrilled! She would like to thank her family and the LINK program for all their love and support.
Jackson Xavier Jirard
Jackson, New Orleans-born and Pennsylvania raised, is now a Bostonian artist and educator. He received his BA in Psychology from Stanford University, his M.Ed in Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and has been researching power, responsibility, and communication in occupational and dance-related spaces for four years. He has danced professionally with Ballet Austin in Texas, Sacramento Ballet in California, and Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre in Massachusetts. He was also a choreographic assistant for Columbia Pictures’ “Little Women” (2019), was assistant choreographer for New Repertory Theatre’s recent “Oliver!” (2019), and most recently tapped his way into Greater Stage Boston Company’s “Swan Lake in Blue” as Ben Kelley. Between teaching dance to community youth/adults, Jackson continues familiarizing himself with the New England performance scene and is so grateful to The Barnstormers Theatre for allowing him to be a part of their boldly experimental “Love Letters.”
Lisa Kate Joyce
Lisa is happy to be back singing for The Barnstormers! She is a Boston native where she is riding out this pandemic. She was previously seen on The Barnstormers stage in Laughter on the 23rd Floor, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Damn Yankees, The Producers, and Spamalot. Please enjoy our little ditty and stay safe out there!
Hannah Nye
Hannah is thrilled to be part of The Barnstormers online series! Most recently, Hannah was in The Mystery Of Edwin Drood (Rosa Bud), Damn Yankees (ensemble) and Love’s Labour’s Lost (Maria). Cheers to The Barnstormers 90th anniversary! @hannie_nye www.hannahnye.com
Bob Shea
Bob is in his fourteenth season as artistic director/ producer for The Barnstormers Theatre and has served the Company for 40 years as a director, actor, and designer. Bob’s Barnstormers directing credits include: Damn Yankees, The Producers, Dancing at Lughnasa, The Drowsy Chaperone, Our Town and approximately 30 additional productions. Bob has also served as Executive/Artistic Director of the Palace Theatre in Manchester, Vice President for Academic Affairs of the New Hampshire Institute of Art, and as artistic director of the Dana Center for the Performing Arts, at Saint Anselm College. Bob extends an enthusiastic and warm welcome to a new generation of Barnstormers performing artists! Thank you to Sara, Pim and Bret for your brilliant collaboration!
Bret Silverman (music director)
Bret, pianist/composer/vocalist, is an associate professor at The Boston Conservatory where he teaches musical theater and musically directs the annual senior showcase which plays in NYC. This year the showcase, like so many other events, will be broadcast online. Bret has spent the past few months directing and producing several online musical events from home, including Boston Conservatory’s tribute to veteran Broadway actor Andre De Shields. Bret has been music directing for The Barnstormers since 1996, including last year’s Damn Yankees. His own musical, The Paisley Sisters’ Christmas Special, is available for licensing through www.stagerights.com. His compositions for children’s chorus are available through Hal Leonard.
Justin Sudderth
Justin is a rising Junior at Montclair State University where he is working toward a B.F.A. Musical Theatre degree. When he is not performing or attending classes, he enjoys delving into his other forms of artistic expression. Thank you to The Barnstormers for allowing him to be a part of this incredible experience!
Pim van Amerongen (co-director)
Pim is very happy and proud to present this special revue alongside Sara, Bret, Bob, and The Barnstormers. Having performed and assisted at the theater for 10 years now, he is ecstatic to still be able to create art for Tamworth (even in a pandemic!). Thanks to the cast, collaborators and good WiFi for making this all possible. I hope you enjoy!
