2025 SHOULDER SEASON

Saturday, May 24, 2025  7pm

Yankee humorists Fred Marple and Rebecca Rule team up to bring laughter, music and assorted nonsense to The Barnstormers Theatre in Tamworth, New Hampshire on Saturday, May 24 at 7 p.m. “We figure folks will welcome a chance to be inside, away from the black flies,” says Fred.

Fred Marple is the unofficial spokesman for the mythical town of Frost Heaves, the most under-appreciated town in New Hampshire.

Rebecca Rule, host of Our Hometown on NHPBS, has been telling stories for more than thirty years, at libraries, historical societies, church groups, and charitable organizations across New England.

The show is family-friendly, says Fred. “And that includes blended family, extended family, and I can’t believe we’re family. It’s gonna be more fun than the time Bert put the live lobster in the punch bowl at the ladies guild meeting.”

Now celebrating five decades of touring, Tom has been thrilling audiences with hits like “No Regrets,” “Circle Game,” “Remember Song,” “Urge for Going” and “Merrimack County.”

Tom Rush’s impact on the American music scene has been profound. He helped shape the folk revival in the ’60s, the folk-rock movement of the ‘70s, and then the renaissance of the ’80s and ’90s, his music inspiring generations of artists.

“Tom Rush has made his reputation as a soft-spoken, powerful interpreter of traditional songs.” –– The New York Times

“Never miss a chance to see Tom Rush live. He's got that rare one-of-a-kind quality that makes you realize you’ve seen somebody who really matters.” — Exclaim Magazine
