The Barnstormers Theatre in lively, historic, Tamworth, NH, is seeking an energetic, experienced marketing professional to help expand our regional and national profile and build target audience attendance for the 2019 season and shoulder season offerings. The incumbent in this position will, in many cases, be the “face” of The Barnstormers, and as such, must be able to speak to our history and heritage and be able to create and maintain lasting relationships with each of our stakeholder sectors.
This position begins as 10-15 hours/week from January through April, expanding to 20-25 hours/week in May, and full-time June through Labor Day. The position reports to the Board of Directors Marketing Committee and works as part of the administrative team including the Producing/Artistic Director and Administrative Manager.
Creating an overarching PR/marketing campaign strategy to include:
-- Assessing and evaluating current marketing strategy and structure and offer insight and expertise to improve existing approaches and processes.
--Generate new, creative marketing avenues
--Soliciting corporate and businesses engagement, involvement, and commitment to support The Barnstormers core and shoulder seasons.
--Co-creating collateral to tell The Barnstormers “story” for fundraising, sponsorship etc. leave-behinds
--Planning and coordinate three to five summer events for donors
--Managing follow-up for fundraising events
--Identifying and coordinating ways to reach and engage new audiences
--Meeting with area businesses to coordinate partnerships and sales
--Designing, coordinating, and delivering overall PR/marketing strategy plan (by February 1)
Partnering with Marketing Manager on planning and executing marketing strategy to include:
--Developing media plans for radio and print and social media (FB, Instagram, Twitter)
--Coordinate with actors/directors around social media with #Barnstormers (and other hashtags)
--Coordinate contracts and billing for ads placed
--Write press releases
--Write stories and blogs weekly about the season (and beyond) Guest bloggers—actors, directors, board members
--Coordinate development and execution of The Barnstormers playbill and inserts
Proven, successful track record of growing attendances and sales in an arts/theatre or other non-profit engagement
Track record of developing, with relevant team members, and implementing new and successful marketing and sales campaigns
Proven, successful track record in generating corporate business support in an entertainment or hospitality context
Experience in market analysis and research techniques
Graphic design and photography skills
Superior writing, language, and proof-reading skills
Experience and/or knowledge of video editing and production for website and YouTube stream
