Welcome to our 89th season! We have chosen a season comprised of some of our most beloved offerings in the form of comedy, mystery, drama, and music—the perfect menu for a summer’s fare. We hope you’ll agree!
As I write this, we are awaiting the arrival of our first roster of actors and our technical crew. Each year, I take a big breath at this moment, full of joyful anticipation and frankly, some anxiety: How will we weave a gathering of close to 90 people with diverse and proven talent into a single, pristine artistic tapestry? Will the magic we’ve anticipated come to pass? Will you, our audience, emerge from the theater gratified and fulfilled by what you’ve experienced? Will there be an 90th season?
Each year, we embark on a wide leap of faith that results in nothing short of a miracle. The first Monday morning rehearsal of each play finds 15 to 20 relative strangers gathered in what seems to be a cacophony of scripts, shreds of costumes, music, talent and voices. What emerges 8 or 9 days later is a wonderfully artistic and articulate piece of art.
And then there’s the miracle that is you, our audience. How is it that this little village, this little theater—attracts 275 smart, creative, appreciative and wonderful people who, night after night, become our artistic collaborators? And yet, here you are. You are the authors of our biggest miracle. Without your support and collaboration, we simply wouldn’t be.
Yes, I believe in miracles. Apparently, you do, too. Thank you for being a part of our Barnstormers miracle. And enjoy the show!
